Why Cutting and Pasting Does Not Work In Email Templates

In terms of branding, consistency is incredibly important, that goes for styling, presentation, fonts, colours, and a whole host of other factors. The common mistake many users of emailing platforms make is in copying-and-pasting formated content from one application into the template editor. Simply copying and pasting the information can lead to extraneous data being copied over, which could overwrite the formatting in your template.  This also applies to when you paste content from a Microsoft Word document or Outlook Email into an email template editor, you will find the formatting looks odd or is lost. This is because Word presents content in many ways (such as tabs) that are not recognised in HTML in the email template designer.

To avoid formatting issues we recommend either drafting your campaigns in a simple text editor such as Notepad or copying and pasting your content into a text editing program before pasting into your campaign. This removes any stray styling code that may be associated with your content.
